Rt. Rev. Remi Rabenirina, former archbishop of the Anglican Province of the Indian Ocean has passed away. His funeral was held on Sunday 26 January 2020 at St Laurent’s Cathedral in Antananarivo.
It was led by Bishop Samuel John and the Bishops from other dioceses including Jean Paul, Bishop of Toamasina; Rateloson Rakotondravelove Gilbert, Bishop of Fianarantsoa, Todd Andrew McGregor, Bishop of Toliara, Razafindralambo Samitiana, Assistant Bishop of Toliara Diocese as well as many priests from the various Dioceses of Madagascar.
Archbishop Remi had been a great mentor to Bishop Todd and Rev Patsy McGregor, encouraging Todd to be ordained and later allowing Todd to serve with him as his assistant. Archbishop Remi knew how to give to the people he loved so much and humbly served pride and dignity both in moments of joy and in times of trials.
May his soul rest in peace. May his family sense God’s guiding during this time of mourning.
